Hello from the sticker at Ditchling Common Country Park Nature Trail. Here's what we know, for you and your dog. More dog-friendly places nearby
Cleo & Bonnie haven't walked this one yet. Everything here is from its publisher, with the date it shows.
The stiles
The leaflet's directions name bridges and kissing gates and no stiles.
Livestock
'This large field is grazed by cattle through the summer,' says the leaflet; the council's page says cattle graze the fenced areas from spring to autumn.
The ground
Short and gentle: a path along the pond's bank, woods, a coppice and the open field, through kissing gates and over two bridges. Waymarked by posts with Dizzy the Ditchling Dragonfly on them. 'Stay on marked paths,' the council asks: the common is a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
For dogs
Dogs are welcome, the council says, but 'on a lead or under close control', especially in the nesting season, and away from the pond's edge. Dog bins near the car park, or take it home.
Walked it with your dog? Tell us how it was
Mud, animals, how busy: a few taps. The answers (never your words or name) show here for three weeks, to help the next walker.
