Reviews and what you send

A dog-friendly guide is only useful if you can trust it. This is how the words on each place come about, whose they are, and what we do with what you send us.

Four kinds of word on a place

Checked by Cleo & Bonnie
We went, with the dogs, or checked by phone or with the owner, and the date is next to it. Cleo's and Bonnie's lines are written by us, their pawrents, in their voices, from that visit.
Visitors say
Two or more people, separately, told us the same thing about where dogs could go, from their own visits in the last year. We show how many and the latest date. Their words appear only if they said we could quote them.
Reports differ
Someone told us dogs weren't allowed when the listing says they are, or the other way round. Until we've checked again, the place says so, so you can ask before you go.
What we found online
Not checked yet: the place's own website first, then directories and blogs, each with the date it shows.

On a walk

A walk's page can show Latest from a walker: how muddy it was, any animals on the route, and how busy, from the most recent report in the last three weeks, with its date. Only those answers show, never the walker's words or name. The ground changes by the week, so older reports drop off.

What we keep

The privacy page says what we keep, where, and for how long; the terms of use say what you let us do with what you send.
