Cleo

No dogs inside the castle, so it's the scenic route: through the Barbican Gate and round the outside. The views are free, which suits a queen on a budget.

Bonnie

Round the castle, sniffing very old stones. The view makes my ears flap.

The pawrents

Dogs can't go into the castle, its grounds or the museum (assistance dogs only), but don't let that put you off.

More from the pawrents

Walk through the Barbican Gate and round the outside: it's a lovely loop, with a view over the whole town. In the gate, look for the deep grooves in the stone: local lore says soldiers sharpened their swords there. Then peek over the flint wall at the bowling green, one of the oldest in England.

We don't know yet: garden, water, treats, muddy dogs, space and cosy fireplace. $Or a rule that's changed, where dogs can go, water bowls. How you know helps too.

Only so we can ask you about it. We won't add you to anything, and it's never shown.
